High Museum Field Trip

The High Museum Field Trip on Thursday was informative and exciting for our class.  The biggest thrill for the students was riding on a Woodward bus!  I can't say it is thrilling for Miss Kathy and myself.

Our docent shared a lot of knowledge about many paintings and techniques.  We concluded the field trip with an art project that you have most likely seen by now.

Thanksgiving Feast

Today we had our annual Thanksgiving Feast here at school.  The menu consisted of turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, a roll and pumpkin pie.  Yum, yum!

You might not recognize us in this photo as we look strangely like Native Americans.  Your child will be bringing home his necklace and headband today.  Miss Kathy and I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with family, fun and delicious food.  One thing is for sure, December will be a fast paced month for us.

Turkey Bread Baskets

Not only have our students learned a bit about the elusive turkey, but we've put a lot of energy into making turkey bread baskets for your Thanksgiving Feast.  If your family displays the turkey or uses him to actually hold bread then please send us a picture so we can share it on the blog.  Your child can be with the turkey, the whole family can be posed with Tom or he can be photographed solo.

It's Like Butter

How much fun can a person have in kindergarten?  Plenty, if you get to help make muffins and spread them with the butter you worked so hard to make.

Each student helped Miss Kathy in some small way to make cranberry muffins.  Everyone also worked very hard to turn whipping cream into delicious butter.  The concensus was that the way we accomplished this task was a lot easier than the way Sarah Morton's mother did it.  We also thought that the muffins and butter tasted extra good because everyone made their own.

Tricky Turkeys=Epic Success

Wow!  Our families are the greatest.  Miss Kathy and I were wowed by the pumpkins and now the turkeys.  They are most certainly incognito.  What an awesome job you all did.  We hope the family time you spent together on these two projects was fulfilling and fun.  Thank you so much for going above and beyond.  As promised, we will leave you alone for a few months.

Mother Goose Paid A Visit

It's true!  Mother Goose paid a visit to The Primary School today.  She told some tales to our kindergarten students.  Everyone had a great time listening to her stories.
