Pancakes Anyone?
In honor of Eric Carle's book, Pancakes, Pancakes-we had a delicious snack of, you guessed it, pancakes. The children were thrilled and gobbled them up. We even witnessed two children licking their plates1
Community Meeting
Today we attended the first Community Meeting of the school year. We begin each meeting by reciting the pledge, and singing the Alma Mater.
Budding Artists
After reading The Grouchy Ladybug and talking about what makes each of us grouchy, everyone had the opportunity to draw a ladybug during a little down time. Here is are two good examples of some very cute ladybugs.
Patterns, Patterns, Everywhere
Math manipulatives are a sure way to learn patterning and sorting. They are so much fun, anyone can be fooled into thinking they are playing instead of learning.

Playground Time
Below are some shots of our class playing outside during morning recess. Please know that I try REALLY hard to make sure all of our class is represented on blog entries, but sometimes one or two slip by me or we noticed when reviewing the pictures that someone's name may have been showing, which is against all safety protocol. So, forgive us if there is a time when your child was omitted but we will be sure and make it up during the other 179 days this year. :)
Play-Doh is Great for Small Motor Skills
I see a lot of little artists in training. This activity wasn't quite as easy as it sounds. You had to be a good listener to do everything we asked.
My Big First Day of Kindergarten
Your children are so awesome we decided to frame them! You can double click on any picture and print. By the way, feel free to share our blog with grandparents, relatives, friends and others. Comments have been disabled for safety's sake. The pictures that will be printed and put on our cactus in the hall will have the unsighly white cabinets cut out. Enjoy!
