Grandparents are Great

What a joy having your child's grandparents visit us on Friday.  The children were so proud to have their grands here to see our room and some of the impressive work they've done.  If you do not see your child and his grandparents in a picture below it is because your child's name is clearly visible on grandmother or grandfather's nametag.  I will e-mail you a copy of the picture tomorrow if it isn't here.

Shapes Make Great Pictures

Our students are able to choose a shape template and cover the area with the wooden shapes we happen to be learning about at the moment.  You can make some pretty impressive pictures with wooden shapes.

Monster Squeeze is a Blast

Our students are asking to play Monster squeeze each day.  We started small, in groups of two with a number line that stops at ten.  Now we are using a number line that goes to one-hundred.  That's progress!  We hope you are having fun playing Monster Squeeze at home with the materials your child brought home a few weeks ago.

Tailgating at Primary School Night

It was great to see so many of our Primary School families Friday night at the tailgate.  I managed to chase (and I do mean chase) down most of our students for a picture.  Sorry if I missed you.

I think it is safe to say that everyone had a great time.  It was made even better with the War Eagle victory.

Art With Shapes

Your child has been reviewing shapes he already knew: the triangle, rectangle, circle, and square.  Recently, we introduced the hexagon, trapezoid and rhombus (also known as a diamond).  Did you know you can make some pretty art with these shapes?

Math Games are Fun

Our students partnered with a classmate and practiced playing one of the many math games we have explored so far.  The games cover many of the skills we work on everyday.
